Brazilian player Raphinha, striker for FC Barcelona, has thrown down a challenge to eternal rivals Argentina ahead of their much-anticipated encounter, which will take place on Wednesday night, as part of the 14th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Raphinha waved the flag of challenge against the "tango" team during his statements on a podcast hosted by former Brazilian player Romário Souza Faria.

Answering a question from Romário about Brazil's chances of beating Argentina, their eternal adversary, especially in the absence of their captain Lionel Messi, Raphinha declared:

"Of course... We will beat Argentina, both on and off the pitch."

One of the favorites to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or added that he will do everything to score against them and will crush the Argentine team to surpass them.

Argentina vs Brazil, where to watch the match?

The "Seleção" faces a tough test in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, hoping to secure their first victory in nearly six years, the last being their 2-0 win in the Copa América 2019 semi-final.
Meanwhile, coach Lionel Scaloni's players hope to secure a win or a draw to officially validate their qualification for the World Cup.

The South American derby is awaited at the Monumental stadium, located in Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, at midnight on Wednesday, March 26 (GMT). The match will be broadcast on SSC1 HD channel.
