After an exceptional career spanning more than 13 years at Real Madrid, Croatian international midfielder Luka Modrić has decided to leave the Madrid club following his participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.

Regarded as one of the club’s all-time legends, Modrić has played over 591 matches in the iconic white shirt, amassing a remarkable haul of 28 trophies, including 6 Champions League titles and 4 La Liga championships.

What’s in store for Luka Modrić: MLS or Saudi Arabia?

According to multiple media outlets, most notably the French outlet Foot Mercato, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has received several offers from clubs outside Europe, including Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and Inter Miami in the United States.

The same sources reveal that the Croatian star is leaning strongly toward the United States, where he hopes to settle with his family and experience the American league, not to mention the opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi.

On the other hand, Al Nassr is working hard to lure Modrić with an enticing offer and an ambitious project, backed by Cristiano Ronaldo, who reportedly assured Modrić that the lifestyle in Saudi Arabia would be perfect for him and his family. Meanwhile, offers from Brazil are considered less appealing, both financially and in terms of living conditions.
