The opening matchday of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations concluded in Morocco on Monday, July 7. All twelve participating teams have played their first group-stage matches, delivering both surprises and confirmations. Here are the group standings after the first round of matches.

Moroccan stadiums pulsed with excitement from July 5 to 7 as each national team aimed to kick off their campaign on the right foot. Senegal made a big statement by overpowering DR Congo 4-0, immediately claiming the top spot in their group. Hosts Morocco shared the spoils with Zambia (2-2) in the tournament opener, while Nigeria, true to their reputation, swept past Tunisia 3-0. Algeria got the job done against Botswana (1-0). Defending champions South Africa controlled the game against Ghana 2-0, and Mali edged Tanzania by the narrowest of margins (1-0).
