World Cup 2026: FIFA bans reusable water bottles in stadiums

Just days before the kickoff of the 2026 World Cup, FIFA has changed its regulations regarding stadium entry. Fans will ultimately not be allowed to bring water flasks or reusable bottles, even if empty.

This decision is already drawing criticism, especially since several matches are expected to take place in high temperatures across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Until recently, the regulations allowed transparent reusable bottles with a maximum capacity of one liter.

From now on, spectators will have to purchase water inside the stadiums. The water sold in the venues will be provided by FIFA partner brands. This measure comes as many observers express concern about the weather conditions expected during the tournament. Several matches could be played in extreme heat, increasing the risk of dehydration for fans in the stands.
