Tonight, Algeria will be fighting for survival in the 2026 World Cup as they play their second group match against Jordan.

After being soundly beaten by Argentina in their opening game (3-0), Algeria can no longer afford any slip-ups if they want to keep their qualification hopes alive heading into the final matchday. However, an early elimination is possible if they lose to Jordan in this second outing.

This scenario would unfold if Austria beats Argentina or if both teams settle for a draw. In either case, Algeria would no longer be able to catch up to the top two spots that grant qualification.
