CDM 2026 - Algeria: Farès Chaïbi reveals what sparked the comeback against Jordan
After the Fennecs' stunning comeback against Jordan (2-1), Farès Chaïbi praised his team's response and the mentality they showed in the second half. The Algerian attacking midfielder already has his sights set on the decisive clash with Austria.
Following Algeria's dramatic turnaround victory over Jordan (2-1), Farès Chaïbi did not hide his relief. Speaking to beIN Sports in the mixed zone, the Greens' playmaker reminded everyone that nothing is ever guaranteed at a World Cup.

"It's the World Cup, there are no easy matches, no pushovers. As you saw on the opening day, several big teams stumbled and couldn't manage a win," he explained.
He went on to add:
"The Jordanians had a very good first half. In the locker room, we talked among ourselves, calmed down, and told each other that we had more quality."
However, the Eintracht Frankfurt player was most impressed by his team's reaction.
"In the second half, we pushed as hard as we could to get back in the game as quickly as possible and, al hamdoulilah, we did it and we're leaving with all three points. That's huge, our first win to kick off the tournament. Now, we'll try to better prepare for the match against Austria. We'll be playing for qualification and we'll give it everything," he concluded.
