Manuel Neuer has etched his name into World Cup history, but this time for a rather unflattering statistic. During Germany's elimination against Paraguay in the round of 16 (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), the 40-year-old goalkeeper conceded yet another goal.

This goal brings Neuer's streak to ten consecutive World Cup matches without managing to keep a clean sheet. He now equals the record held by Mexican goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal, set between the 1950 and 1962 tournaments.

The last time the German keeper kept a clean sheet at a World Cup was back in the 2014 final, when Germany triumphed over Argentina. Since then, he has conceded at least once in every appearance at the tournament. It's a record Neuer would surely have preferred to avoid to cap off an international career that, nevertheless, includes a World Cup title.
