Wydad Slip Up Against Sevilla as Club World Cup Countdown Begins

Wydad Casablanca suffered 1 - 0 defeat against Spanish side Sevilla in friendly match held at the Mohammed V Stadium on Tuesday as part of their build up to the fifa Club World cup 2025.

Costly Goalkeeping Error

The only goal of the match came in the 49 minute when Sevilla’s Gerard Fernandez capitalized on major error by Wydad goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid. Despite creating few chances, the home side failed to respond.

More Tests Ahead

Wydad will face Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto in another warm up clash this Saturday. The Moroccan champions are fine tuning their squad ahead of the expanded Club World cup which will run from 14 Jun to 13 Jul in the United States.

Tough Group for Wydad

Drawn into Group G, Wydad'll take on european giants Man City & Juventus along with UAE side Al Ain. Their opening match's set for 18 Jun against reigning Champions league winners Manchester City.
