The curtain falls on a long and eventful chapter. Yoann Djidonou will play his final professional match this Saturday, May 17, wearing the SO Romorantin jersey in National 3. It will be his 25th appearance of the season... and the last in a career that began over three decades ago.

The Beninese goalkeeper has chosen to hang up his gloves on his birthday—a powerful symbol for a man whose consistency and dedication have left a mark on Beninese football. Yoann Djidonou made the announcement on social media on May 14, 2025:

It's time for me to turn the page and announce the end of my career. This decision was not easy to make... With a heavy heart, I have chosen to bring an end to this journey that has shaped the man I have become.

Trained in France, Yoann Djidonou established himself through professionalism and discipline. For the national team, he earned 20 caps for Benin. Two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (2008, 2010), a U20 AFCON, a U20 World Cup: his record with the national team is impressive.
