Zizo targeted by Al Ahly: Mido explodes and responds directly!

Ahmed Hossam "Mido", a member of the planning committee of Zamalek SC, made significant revelations about the behind-the-scenes of the transfer market within the Cairo club during a televised intervention broadcast on Sunday, March 6 on the Egyptian channel On Sport.

According to the former Pharaons striker, Al Ahly, Zamalek's eternal rival, attempted to recruit the Moroccan left-back Mahmoud Bentayg by initiating direct discussions with the French club AS Saint-Étienne. This move proved futile as Zamalek swiftly reacted by exercising the player's purchase option.

The White Knights officially announced a few weeks ago the permanent signing of Mahmoud Bentayg for an additional three seasons. Now tied to Zamalek until June 2028, the Moroccan international is committed to a long-term future with the White Knights.

Mido targets Al Ahly's management: "Two of their players want to sign with Zamalek!"

In another highly commented segment of his intervention, Mido was particularly critical of Al Ahly's management, led by Mahmoud El Khatib. He specifically mentioned persistent efforts by the Red club to enlist Zamalek's star, Ahmed Sayed Zizo.

"I know perfectly well that Zizo is a true Zamalkaoui and that he wishes to continue his journey with us. But Al Ahly is making a strong push to lure him, even organizing a meeting with his father, who manages his affairs, to convince him to sign."

Mido did not hesitate to point out this obsession of the rival: "Why does Al Ahly's management consider Zamalek's players to be the best in the world? I want to send them a clear message: we too have significant financial means. We could target any of your players, but our philosophy is different."

He concluded with a weighty revelation: "I swear before God: two Al Ahly players have personally asked me to meet them to discuss a transfer to Zamalek. But our policy is simple: we recruit according to the team's needs, not to weaken the competition."
