Speaking to the press this Sunday, Lucas Digne was questioned about Ousmane Dembélé's situation.

The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner is at the center of much debate in France due to performances seen as different from those with PSG. Lucas Digne offered his analysis of Ousmane Dembélé's adaptation to a different style of play with the national team, especially in the middle of the 2026 World Cup.

"For me, it’s not a question of level—the player’s level is the same. We’re talking about the Ballon d’Or winner here, he’s an exceptional player. I think it’s more about different tactical setups, different teams, and it’s up to us to create the best possible conditions for him to shine. At Paris and Barcelona, those are teams that dominate possession. Here, we saw a bit less of the ball in our opening match against Senegal," explained Aston Villa’s left-back.
