Al Ahly Bid Farewell to Three First Team Stars Before Club World Cup

Al Ahly SC confirmed on Thursday the departure of Ramy Rabia, Akram Tawfik and Hamza Alaa following the expiry of their contracts, just 2 week before the start of the 2025 FIFA Club World cup.

End of an Era for Al Ahly Trio

The Egyptian giants chose not to renew the contracts of the 3 first team players after concluding successful domestic campaign that saw them lift the EPL title for the 45th time & for 3rd consecutive season.

Club Statement of Gratitude

In official statement on their website, the club said:

"Al Ahly extends sincere thanks to Ramy Rabia, Akram Tawfik and Hamza Alaa following the end of their contracts with the 1st team"

Transition Under New Coach

The announcement came just minutes after Al Ahly revealed the appointment of Spanish coach Jose Riveiro who signed 2 year deal and is expected to lead the team in the Club World cup campaign in the U.S next month.

With dominance at home secured, Al Ahly now turns its attention to reclaiming continental and global glory and Riveiro will be tasked with rebuilding quickly after the surprise exits of three key players.
