Al Ahly President Meets Laporta at Barcelona HQ to Discuss Strategic Cooperation

Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib was warmly received by Joan Laporta president of FC Barcelona during high level visit to the Spanish club’s headquarters.

According to a statement from Al Ahly on X , the reception included Laporta, his vice president Rafael Yuste and Barcelona Museum director Jordi Penas. The meeting took place in the context of exploring cooperation & mutual knowledge exchange between the 2 iconic club.

Stadium Innovation & Tech Integration

The 2 parties held positive discussion on Barcelona’s cutting edge stadium redevelopment focusing on technology integration, fan engagement and modern revenue tools.

They also reviewed the Barcelona Museum’s concept and financial model as successful example of commercial innovation in football.

Mutual Respect Between Giants

Laporta expressed his admiration for Al Ahly describing it as one of the world’s biggest clubs in both fan base & trophy count. He emphasized Barcelona’s readiness to share expertise in stadium management, museum development and marketing noting the importance of partnering with club of Al Ahly’s stature.

El Khatib’s Response

El Khatib thanked Laporta for the warm hospitality praised Barcelona’s global status and highlighted the potential of fruitful partnership. He also formally invited Laporta to visit Al Ahly in Cairo in the near future.
