Al Ahly puts its foot down: Emam Ashour is not for sale!
The Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly has put an end to speculation about a potential transfer of their midfielder Emam Ashour to Saudi club Al-Okhdood during this summer’s transfer window.
Al Ahly slams the door on Al-Okhdood
According to a source close to the club, cited by Yalla Kora, Al-Okhdood did indeed approach Al Ahly to inquire about Emam Ashour’s situation. The response was unequivocal:
“The player is not for sale. He’s a core part of the club’s project.”
The same source noted that Ashour is one of the pillars of the squad, and a contract renegotiation is under consideration to reward his outstanding performances.
Signed in the summer of 2023 from Danish club Midtjylland, Ashour quickly established himself as a key figure in the team. In 86 appearances, he has netted 30 goals and provided 19 assists, playing a decisive role in Al Ahly’s major triumphs, including the CAF Champions League and the Egyptian Premier League.
Despite suffering a broken collarbone during the Club World Cup in the United States, the midfielder is currently undergoing rehab in Spain after a successful surgery in the US.
