Al Ahly Start Hunt for New Striker as Wessam Nears Exit

Al Ahly have officially opened the search for new striker amid growing reports of Wessam Abou Ali’s imminent move to Columbus Crew in the ongoing transfer window.

Kouka on Al Ahly’s Radar

According to Egyptian sports journalist Ahmed Shobeir Al Ahly're considering Ahmed Hassan Kouka, the former Egypt international and current free agent as leading candidate to replace Abou Ali.

"Kouka's one of the names being seriously discussed" Shobeir confirmed on his radio show on Monday.

Dream Return in Sight

Kouka who left French side Le Havre after his contract expired at the end of the 2024 /25 season has reportedly expressed strong desire to return to Al Ahly and lead their frontline.

The 31 year old striker previously revealed in TV interview that talks were held with Al Ahly in Jan though no formal agreement was reached at the time.

"Al Ahly means a lot to me. I’m waiting for the right opportunity to come back" he said.

Kouka’s Recent Form

In his final season with Le Havre, Kouka made 16 appearances in Ligue 1 and scored 3 goal. He's currently unattached and open to negotiations.
