A move from a Saudi club, whose identity remains undisclosed, has prompted the Red Devils’ leaders to take action. The SPL side reportedly put a contract worth around $5 million a season on the table for Ashour.

The Cairo club is waiting for the player to return from vacation in order to meet with him and propose an extension to his contract, which already runs until June 2028.

Al-Ahly SC’s sporting director, Mohamed Youcef, revealed this, emphasizing that it is part of the club’s strategy to maintain the core of the first team.

Emam Ashour, who has tallied 30 goals and 19 assists in 86 appearances for the Red Devils, suffered an injury during the opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup against Inter Miami (0-0). He underwent surgery in the United States before making an early return to Egypt.
