Ali Maâloul: a surprise destination, far from the Gulf!
Local Tunisian sources have revealed the next destination for Ali Maâloul (35), the former star left-back of Al Ahly. According to reports, he is on the verge of returning to his boyhood club, Club Sportif Sfaxien, after a nine-year absence following his move to Egypt.
Ali Maâloul returns to his original club
According to Tunisian radio “Mosaïque”, a preliminary agreement has been reached between the club and the player for him to sign for the upcoming season.
This revelation comes just weeks after his contract with Al Ahly ended, closing the chapter on a remarkable spell with the Egyptian giants.
During his nine years with the “Red Devils”, Maâloul played a pivotal role in securing four CAF Champions League titles (2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024) as well as three FIFA Club World Cup bronze medals.
Beyond his collective achievements, he scored 53 goals and provided 85 assists, amassing a total of 22 domestic and continental trophies with Al Ahly.
