Angola: Aliou Cissé unveils his squad to face Egypt and Malawi

Aliou Cissé has unveiled the 28 players selected for Angola’s first two matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Aliou Cissé has finalised his squad for Angola’s next camp. The Senegalese coach has called up 28 players for the first two rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with two important fixtures against Egypt and then Malawi.

Appointed to lead the Palancas Negras on 9 April 2026, the day after his departure from the Libyan national team, Cissé is continuing to build his project in Angola. His first matches with Angola took place during the June international window, with two friendly games played in Casablanca.

Goalkeepers: Neblú, Hugo Marques, Rui Honésimo, Ekumby.

Defenders: David Carmo, Kinito, Marsoni Sambu, Jonathan Buatu, Pedro Bondo, Núrio Fortuna, Eddie Afonso, Sandro Cruz, Jordi Gaspar, Kialonda Gaspar.

Midfielders: Mário Balbúrdia, Randy Nteka, Show, Keliano, Beni Mukendi.

Forwards: Depú, Milson Felício, Zini Salvador, Chico Banza, Gilberto « Gibelé », Fernandinho, Mabululu, Miro, Zito Luvumbo.

Egypt and then Malawi on the schedule

Angola will begin its Group B campaign with a particularly challenging away match against Egypt on 25 September in Cairo. The Pharaohs are among the continent’s leading teams and will immediately provide Cissé’s men with a major test.

The Palancas Negras will then return home on 6 October to host Malawi in Luanda. Group B also includes South Sudan. The schedule for the first two rounds of the qualifiers therefore immediately pits Angola against two opponents with very different profiles.

For Aliou Cissé, these two matches should help establish positive momentum at the start of a campaign in which the top two teams in the group will qualify for the finals.
