Borussia Dortmund beat Real Betis at home on Wednesday evening. It was a hard-fought win without Serhou Guirassy, who had to come off early.

Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-1 win over Real Betis tonight in the Champions League, thanks to Fábio Silva, who scored in the 49th minute. His goal put the Germans ahead after the break, following a goalless first half. Konstantínos Karétsas secured the win in the 72nd minute after Ruibal had equalised.

Serhou Guirassy injured

On Wednesday evening, the injury curse struck Dortmund again. Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy had to be substituted midway through the first half of the Champions League match against Betis because of a physical problem.

In the 34th minute, midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas came on for Guirassy. Guirassy's injury appeared to stem from an incident as early as the third minute. Inside the six-yard box, the Guinean slipped as he narrowly failed to reach a cross from the right by Julian Ryerson, before accidentally colliding with the near post.

He initially carried on playing without appearing to be troubled, but the pain worsened as the match went on. After nearly half an hour, Serhou Guirassy grabbed his thigh and indicated that he had a problem.
