On Saturday evening, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2. It was a fairly entertaining Klassiker. However, the match was marred by injuries.

While Bayern Munich are set to face Atlético de Madrid in midweek in the Champions League, three players went down. Ismaël Saibari, Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise were substituted a few minutes from the end after asking to come off. This adds to an already crowded treatment room, with Luis Diaz, Manuel Neuer and Jamal Musiala already sidelined.

Olise could miss out with France

Michael Olise left the stadium limping and did not speak to journalists who asked him about his injury. While it does not appear to be an injury that will keep him out for months, Zinédine Zidane has reason for concern as Les Bleus are set to face Italy (November 12) and Turkey (November 15) during the next international break.

While Saibari left the stadium on crutches with a bandage around his ankle, the injury is expected to be less serious for the Frenchman. “With Olise, we think it’s not that serious, but it’s relatively difficult to say after matches like this, with the adrenaline. But we can assume that it won’t be that serious,” sporting director Max Eberl explained after the match.
