ASEC Mimosas: The Dominator of Côte d'Ivoire's Women's Division 1

The women's team of ASEC Mimosas reigns supreme this season in the Ivorian women's first division. After a meteoric rise from the second division to the elite, the Mimos Ladies now embody the terror of Côte d'Ivoire's Women's Ligue 1.

The ASEC Mimosas women's team ascended to the top division in Côte d'Ivoire at the end of the 2022/2023 campaign, where they shone with impressive results. In the 2023-2024 season, during their first participation at the highest level, the Mimosas finished in a commendable second place, eleven points behind FC Inter of Abidjan. A perfect catalyst, the Yellow and Black began the 2024/2025 year with intensity and determination.

Uncontested Domination

From the season's kickoff, ASEC Mimosas displayed unwavering determination. Under the guidance of coach Traoré Siaka "Gigi", the team racked up victories, establishing an impeccable record. Their prolific attack scored 95 goals in 15 matches, while their defense conceded only one goal, resulting in an impressive goal difference of +94. This performance earned them a total of 45 points, with 15 wins in as many games.

The statistics speak for themselves: an average of more than six goals scored per match and remarkable defensive solidity. This dominance translated into massive scores, notably a 15-0 victory against FC JF KORIA on March 2, 2025.

A Solid Team, An Unyielding Goalkeeper

The success of the Mimos Ladies isn't limited to their offensive prowess. The team's cohesion and squad depth are also pillars of this dominance. Every player, including the brilliant Nina Yadi Dalbigou, dubbed a 'solid wall' by the club.

With these spectacular results, ASEC Mimosas is well on its way to clinching the grand title in Ivorian women's D1 for the first time in its history. Their closest competitor, Atletico d'Abidjan, trails with 38 points, having won 12 matches, drawn 2, and lost 1 of their 15 games. Although Atletico d'Abidjan is a strong team, ASEC Mimosas' performance sets them apart.
