Aston Villa is stepping up its pursuit of Nicolas Jackson. According to Sky Sport Germany, the Villans have intensified negotiations with Chelsea and the Senegal international's representatives in hopes of reaching an agreement in the coming weeks.

A loan with an option to buy under consideration

Back at Chelsea after his loan spell at Bayern Munich, the 25-year-old striker is not expected to stay in London until the end of the transfer window. According to Sky Sport Germany, Aston Villa is considering bringing in Nicolas Jackson on a loan deal with an option to buy. Jackson is under contract with Chelsea until 2033, tying him to the Blues for the long term, which could complicate negotiations.

Loaned to Bayern Munich last season, Nicolas Jackson made 34 appearances—15 as a starter—scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists. The German club paid €16.5 million for his loan, with a purchase option set at €65 million, which they ultimately chose not to activate. Since joining Chelsea, Jackson has tallied 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 appearances across all competitions.

Our analysis

In search of an attacking reinforcement, Aston Villa sees Nicolas Jackson as a player who can add pace and depth to their frontline.

The big question is whether Chelsea will agree to another loan or push for a permanent transfer. The coming weeks will be decisive for the Senegalese international’s future, as he could remain in the Premier League while switching clubs.
