Bayer Leverkusen: Amine Adli opens the door to a summer exit
Amine Adli

Speaking to French outlet L’Équipe, Amine Adli opened up about his future at Bayer Leverkusen.

Amine Adli openly discussed the possibility of leaving during an interview with L’Équipe. The Moroccan, whose season was disrupted by a serious fibula injury, is now questioning the next step in his German adventure. The former Toulouse player explained to the French sports daily:

"The club wanted to win trophies and, four years later, I’ve improved and achieved everything I was looking for when I came here. I have no regrets. Bayer is an exceptional club. But after four years and so many emotions, I think it’s natural to question your future. To wonder what I want to do next. Should I leave or not, discover something new? It’s legitimate to ask these questions, especially as we’re starting a new cycle. What matters to me is my role on the pitch. I want to play in my position again, whether it’s on the right wing or as a second striker. To have freedom, responsibility, rhythm, to feel trusted... With all that, I can have great seasons and take the final step in my career. I need to find all that again. The departures of Wirtz, Tah, Frimpong also signal the start of a new era. I was very close to all three in the dressing room. I was always with them. It’ll be very special to start again without them.", confided the Atlas Lion.

Last season, Adli made 28 appearances, scoring just two goals and providing two assists. He joined Bayer in 2021.
