Ajax's rising star Rayane Bounida has made a definitive decision regarding his international football future.

Born in Belgium to Moroccan parents, the 20-year-old winger has opted to don the jersey of the “Atlas Lions”, despite persistent interest from the “Red Devils”.

Belgium U23 head coach Gill Swerts confirmed the decision in a statement to Sporza, addressing Bounida’s absence from the latest Belgian U23 squad.

"The Federation received a letter indicating that Rayane had made his choice. It's a decision that belongs to him. He is a player with tremendous qualities and I wish him every success, but now we have to focus on the players who are here with us."

Across 34 matches in all competitions this season, Rayane Bounida has netted 4 goals and provided 11 assists.
