The Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) took a decisive step in their quest for a historic title by defeating Moghreb de Tétouan 2-0 on Sunday, March 9, during the 24th round of the Botola Pro. This victory propels the team towards a triumph that once seemed distant.

Berkane's success can be credited to two key players: Oussama Lamlioui, who opened the scoring in the 56th minute, and Yassine Labhiri, who netted the second goal in the 69th minute, securing the win.

Thanks to this performance, RS Berkane now leads the standings with 59 points, holding a comfortable 17-point lead over their closest rivals, Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca, who are ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

What does RS Berkane need to do to achieve their dream?

Tunisian coach Mouine Chaabani believes that the dream of clinching the club's first Moroccan championship title is now within reach.

In a televised interview on the "Arriyadiya" channel, Chaabani stated: “We are convinced that this dream is now within our grasp. Winning this title is the aspiration of the entire city of Berkane, but there are still a few small steps to take before it becomes a reality.”

With only two points missing to secure the championship, RS Berkane will face Union Touarga on March 15, a match that could mark the beginning of the club's history as champions of Morocco.

Chabbi praises the exceptional journey of his compatriot Chaabani

Lassaad Chabbi, the coach of Raja Casablanca, also praised the work of his compatriot Mouine Chaabani and his exceptional journey this season.

In his statements to the press, Chabbi expressed his admiration for Chaabani: “Mouine is doing a remarkable job with RS Berkane. He has once again proven that he is among the best current coaches. I am convinced he will win the title; he just needs to secure 15 points in seven matches.”

He added: “I am sure his team will not let go of the top spot. We will certainly have the opportunity to meet soon. Mouine honors the Tunisian coaching school, and I am proud of his success.”
