Bryan Mbeumo: Manchester United steps up and submits €70m offer

Manchester United is ramping up its pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo. The Red Devils have tabled a €70 million bid to Brentford in a bid to secure the services of the Cameroonian winger. Negotiations are ongoing as the Manchester club hopes to reach an agreement with the Bees before pre-season kicks off.

Under the guidance of new manager Ruben Amorim, Manchester United is pulling out all the stops to fix its attacking woes. After an initial offer of £45 million plus £10 million in bonuses was rejected by Brentford, United came back stronger. This weekend, the Red Devils submitted a new blockbuster proposal worth over £60 million—more than €70 million—according to Fabrizio Romano and the English press.

With 20 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League, Bryan Mbeumo confirmed his rise as a powerhouse during the 2024-25 season, establishing himself among the campaign’s top forwards. He also propelled Brentford to a comfortable 10th-place finish. With his contract running until mid-2026 (with an option for 2027), the Bees are in a strong negotiating position and are setting a high bar for their prolific Cameroonian striker. The Gtech Community Stadium club will let Mbeumo leave to the highest bidder.

This plays directly into Manchester United’s hands, as they have so far made the most substantial offer. Not to mention, the 25-year-old forward is leaning towards a move to Old Trafford. Despite strong interest from Tottenham—now managed by Thomas Frank, his former coach at Brentford—Mbeumo’s future appears to be taking shape in the ranks of the Red Devils.
