Mohamed Amoura has been sidelined by his club, Wolfsburg. The German club made the announcement on its X account just hours before their trip to Cologne.

The name of the Algerian international (42 caps, 19 goals) was missing from the match sheet. A surprising decision, especially given that he is his team's top scorer this season with 7 goals.

According to information from “Wolfsburg News”, the 25-year-old player was unhappy with his coach's decision to place him in Group B after splitting the squad into two groups during Wednesday's training session.

Daniel Bauer had already addressed his situation, as reported by La Gazette du Fennec: "The team, meaning all of us, comes before everything. Mohamed didn't fully respect that this week. Consistency is key, which is why he's not playing today. On Monday, he'll give his all again in training, showcase himself, and fight for his place."

Wolfsburg lost their away match to Cologne (1-0) on Friday night in the Bundesliga, without Amoura, but perhaps gained by enforcing discipline within the squad and reminding their top scorer that discipline comes first.
