Burkina Faso's Stade du 4 Août receives CAF approval
Stade du 4 août Ouagadougou

The Confederation of African Football has officially approved Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on July 1, 2025, following a thorough on-site inspection. This certification allows the Stallions to host international matches in this stadium starting in September, provided a few minor adjustments are made.

The news was officially confirmed by the Burkinabè Football Federation. CAF gave its official consent via a letter addressed to the FBF. Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou received its approval after several months of renovations and assessments conducted by confederation experts. Since May 2021, the country's main stadium had been suspended by Africa's football governing body due to non-compliance with required standards.

As a result, the Stallions, Burkina Faso's national team, were forced to play their home matches in other countries. Now classified as a "category 3" venue, the stadium meets the standards required to host official matches for Burkinabè teams and clubs. However, CAF has issued recommendations to further improve certain aspects.
