CAF 2027: CAF confirms the tournament will take place

AFCON 2027 is officially on. This was confirmed on Friday by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

AFCON 2027 will indeed take place as scheduled. Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), confirmed on Friday that the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. This announcement puts an end to the rumors of a possible postponement to 2028.

"We have worked hard to bring AFCON to East Africa, and our commitment remains unwavering. I am confident we will stage a highly successful tournament in these three countries," the president said during a press conference in Dar es Salaam.

"CAF will work closely with the host nations to ensure that every aspect of the tournament, from infrastructure to logistics, meets the highest standards," he added.
