CAF Awards 2024: Emerse Faé named coach of the year

Emerse Faé, head coach of the Ivory Coast national team, has claimed the Coach of the Year trophy at the CAF Awards 2024.

What a remarkable year it has been for coach Faé. As the CAF Awards 2024 ceremony unfolds in Marrakech, Ivory Coast secures a second prestigious prize. The Best Coach of the Year 2024 award has been presented to Emerse Faé. The Ivory Coast manager wraps up the year in style, just as he began it.

The 40-year-old took over from Jean-Louis Gasset in a surprising turn at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast after the group stage. Following the Elephants' results, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) entrusted the team to the former Nantes player. With a masterful touch, Faé led Ivory Coast all the way to the final, where the Elephants were crowned 2023 AFCON Champions. Under coach Faé, the Ivorian squad has also sealed qualification for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
