A major blow for ASEC Mimosas After hoping to continue their continental campaign, the black-and-yellow club have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League. The Mimosas lost 2-1 to Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS de Fès) this Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Félix-Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, in the second leg.

The disappointment is immense for ASEC Mimosas supporters. In front of their home crowd, the Ivorian club failed to make the difference against a Moroccan side determined to continue its continental campaign. After being held to a draw in the first leg, the Yellow and Black nevertheless had the opportunity to secure their qualification at home.

But the script ultimately went in MAS de Fès’s favour. Beaten 2-1, the Mimosas exit the competition with plenty of regrets. This home defeat has ended the Ivorian club’s hopes of continuing their campaign in Africa’s most prestigious interclub competition.

Disappointment in front of the Abidjan crowd

ASEC Mimosas could legitimately believe in their chances after standing up to their opponents in the first meeting. The first-leg draw had kept the suspense alive ahead of this decisive second leg.

However, ASEC’s players were unable to make the most of home advantage. Against an efficient MAS de Fès side, they eventually conceded, bringing an end to a match that sealed their elimination.

This early exit represents a genuine disappointment for the black-and-yellow club, which is accustomed to harbouring great ambitions on the African stage. For MAS de Fès, on the other hand, this victory in Abidjan represents a significant achievement and paves the way for the continuation of their continental campaign.

ASEC Mimosas must now learn the lessons from this setback and regroup for their upcoming fixtures. For the Mimosas, the CAF Champions League campaign thus ends on a bitter note, in front of their own supporters.
