Cameroon: Christian Kofane absent from David Pagou’s squad
Christian Kofane is not among the 28 players called up by David Pagou for Cameroon’s next two matches against Namibia. The Cameroonian striker is unavailable due to an injury that still requires several weeks of recovery.
The Indomitable Lions coach unveiled his squad on Monday, October 26, 2026, for the matches on November 12 and 16, which count toward the third and fourth rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Among the players selected, Christian Kofane is absent.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker is continuing his recovery and has not yet returned to training. David Pagou said he had spoken with the player about his situation. According to the information provided, several more weeks of recovery will be necessary before his return.
A new MRI scan will also help assess the progress of his injury. His unavailability therefore deprives Cameroon of an attacking option for this two-match series against Namibia.
The Indomitable Lions will now have to prepare for these two matches without the young striker. The Cameroonian staff will monitor the progress of his physical condition while awaiting confirmation of his return date.
