CAF Champions League: Sundowns' road to the final

Mamelodi Sundowns will face off against Pyramids this Saturday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League 2024-2025 final.

The South African club is aiming for a second continental crown, having previously triumphed in 2016 at the expense of Zamalek.

In the second preliminary round, Mamelodi Sundowns swept aside Rwanda's Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club with an aggregate score of 8-0.

In the group stage, the "Brazilians" finished second behind Morocco's AS FAR, collecting 9 points from 2 wins, 3 draws, and just one assist.

Next, they knocked out Espérance de Tunis in the quarter-finals with a narrow 1-0 aggregate victory.

In the semi-finals, they ousted defending champions Al Ahly of Egypt. The first leg in South Africa ended in a goalless draw, while the return match finished 1-1.
