CAN 2025 - DR Congo: Supporter Lumumba receives a special gift from the Congolese government
After Algeria, DR Congo has also chosen to honor supporter Michel Kuka Mboladinga, the lookalike of Patrice Lumumba.
Following DR Congo's elimination in the round of 16 at this CAN 2025, Michel Kuka Mboladinga—who bears a striking resemblance to Patrice Lumumba (the former Congolese prime minister assassinated in 1961 and a key figure in the nation's independence)—has taken center stage. Kuka has become a national mascot, standing motionless in his colorful tie and trousers, arm raised high throughout every DR Congo match. His devotion has now been rewarded with an unexpected and prestigious gift.
Congolese Minister of Sports, Didier Budimbu, has decided to present him with a Jeep—a gesture of gratitude for his passionate support and for the positive spotlight he has shone on his country.
