One of the stand-out fixtures in the Round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations – CAN 2025 sees Egypt take on Benin. The match is scheduled for Monday, January 5th at 16:00 GMT.

The Pharaohs finished top of Group B with 7 points, after securing victories over Zimbabwe (2-1) and South Africa (1-0), along with a draw against Angola (0-0).

The Cheetahs qualified as one of the best third-placed teams, finishing third in Group D with 3 points. They defeated Botswana (1-0) but fell to DR Congo (0-1) and Senegal (0-3).

In the history of their meetings, Benin have never managed to defeat Egypt. There have been three victories for Egypt and one spectacular draw in June 2004 (3-3).
