In the dying moments of this clash, Zambia held Mali to a 1-1 draw this Monday in the opening match of Group A at CAN 2025. Despite dominating play, Mali squandered the chance to take the lead in the first half when El Bilal Touré's penalty was denied by Mwanza.

In the second half, Sinayoko (61st) put the Eagles ahead, but Daka (90+2nd) struck late to level the score. After their victory over Comoros last night, Morocco currently tops the group.
