CAN 2025 - Morocco: Nayef Aguerd not worried about Achraf Hakimi
After Walid Regragui, it was Nayef Aguerd's turn to address the topic of Achraf Hakimi following Morocco's 2-0 victory over Comoros.
Yesterday, during the opening match of CAN 2025 against Comoros (2-0), Achraf Hakimi was rested. The Moroccan star had just returned from a serious left ankle sprain suffered at the start of November. Hakimi is expected to make his comeback on the pitch later in the tournament. Nayef Aguerd is already relishing the presence of the 2025 African Ballon d'Or winner in the Atlas Lions' dressing room.
"First of all, we're extremely proud of him. He's a friend, I'm very close to him. It's unfortunate he suffered this injury, but I'm not worried—he came back in time. He brings leadership to the dressing room. The day he's ready, he'll give us that extra edge; he's our captain, and we're really happy for him," shared the Olympique de Marseille centre-back.
