AFCON U20: Majdi Traoui, new coach of the Carthage Eagles!
According to Tunisian press reports, the federal office of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has decided to entrust the leadership of the Carthage Eagles U20 team to coach Mejdi Traoui.
According to radio stations Mosaïque FM and Jawhara FM, the Federation has decided to appoint Mejdi Traoui as the head of the team, assisted by former international goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi (the official announcement has not yet been made).
Mejdi Traoui previously held the position of assistant coach to Moein Chaâbani, both at Espérance Sportive de Tunis and at the Egyptian club Al Masry, after ending his playing career in June 2014.
Date of the new U20 AFCON draw!
This appointment comes following the confirmation of the Tunisian team's participation in the final phase of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, replacing Ivory Coast, disqualified after withdrawing from hosting the competition.
This edition will bring together 13 national teams: Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, DR Congo, Senegal, Central African Republic, Zambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Kenya, and Tanzania.
The new U20 AFCON draw is scheduled for this Sunday at 15:00 GMT. The competition will be held in Egypt from April 27 to May 18, 2025.
