FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta also lost his cool following the tough elimination against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The high-tension clash at the Metropolitano, marked by several controversial refereeing decisions, sent the Catalan president over the edge the day after the elimination. In front of several media outlets, including El Chiringuito, Joan Laporta publicly voiced his dissatisfaction.

"It's a disgrace and it's intolerable, just like in the first leg. On Dani Olmo’s play, there was a penalty. The foul on Fermín López (referring to the aerial duel) can be interpreted in different ways, but it's unacceptable. There was no red card for Éric García. Our player was sent off even though Koundé was clearly in a position to reach the ball. Eric (García) was not the last defender. The referee showed a yellow card, which was the right call, but VAR ruined everything. And the disallowed goal by Ferran Torres should have stood." he declared.

He added: "We filed a complaint and the response was that it was inadmissible. Now, we demand explanations."
