Club World Cup 2025: Espérance de Tunis's journey by edition

Espérance de Tunis is gearing up for its fourth appearance in the final stage of the FIFA Club World Cup, with the 2025 edition set to take place in the United States.

In its three previous participations, the Tunisian side was unable to progress beyond the second round.

In 2011, they were defeated by Qatari club Al-Sadd with a score of 1-2, then lost in 2018 and 2019 to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia (1-1) and Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates (0-3), respectively.

Additionally, they finished 6th in the 2011 tournament after losing the placement match against Monterrey of Mexico (2-3), and 5th in both 2018 and 2019 thanks to their victories over Guadalajara (Mexico) on penalties, 6-5, and Al Sadd with a 6-2 scoreline.

In the group stage of the 2025 edition, Espérance will face Flamengo (Brazil), Chelsea (England), and the winner of the play-off between Los Angeles (USA) and Club America (Mexico).
