Club World Cup 2025: these 4 African players who missed their tournament
Several African players failed to deliver during the 2025 Club World Cup.
The four African representatives (Espérance de Tunis, Wydad, Al Ahly, and Mamelodi Sundowns) exited the tournament at the group stage.

Here are the 4 African disappointments of the Club World Cup:
Elias Mokwana
The South African winger failed to shine for Espérance de Tunis in his three group stage appearances. The former Sekhukhune United player struggled to meet the demands of top-level competition.
Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet
The former Aston Villa man did not provide the expected impact for his club Al Ahly, failing to make any contribution in his three matches at the tournament.

Stéphane Aziz Ki
The Burkina Faso international went unnoticed at the Club World Cup, only playing a handful of minutes in the tournament.
Ronwen Williams
The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper was unrecognisable at the Club World Cup. He bears much of the responsibility for the 4-3 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
