Here are the 4 African disappointments of the Club World Cup:

Elias Mokwana

The South African winger failed to shine for Espérance de Tunis in his three group stage appearances. The former Sekhukhune United player struggled to meet the demands of top-level competition.

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet

The former Aston Villa man did not provide the expected impact for his club Al Ahly, failing to make any contribution in his three matches at the tournament.

Stéphane Aziz Ki

The Burkina Faso international went unnoticed at the Club World Cup, only playing a handful of minutes in the tournament.

Ronwen Williams

The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper was unrecognisable at the Club World Cup. He bears much of the responsibility for the 4-3 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
