There are still two African players in contention for the title: Achraf Hakimi (Morocco) and Nicolas Jackson (Senegal). So, regardless of who lifts the trophy, there will be an African champion in this first-ever expanded 32-team edition of the Club World Cup.

Beyond these two countries—the only African nations represented in the final—14 other nationalities will also be in action, according to the latest update from FIFA.

The nationalities involved are England, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Ecuador, Denmark, France, Georgia, Italy, South Korea, Portugal, Russia, Spain, and the United States.

Let’s recall that the world football governing body announced a total of 72 nationalities at the tournament’s kick-off on June 14.
