Cole Palmer after Chelsea's triumph: "They doubted us, but..."

After netting a brace against PSG in the Club World Cup final, Cole Palmer spoke out at the final whistle.

Cole Palmer was named the best player of the Club World Cup and man of the match against PSG. The former Manchester City talent stunned the Parisians in the final (0-3) with two spectacular goals in the opening 30 minutes, and later set up his strike partner João Pedro with a pinpoint assist just before halftime.

Palmer was approached to share his thoughts on the Blues’ triumph after the final whistle. The young star didn’t miss the chance to send a message to all those who doubted his team’s ability to win: “It’s an amazing feeling. Even better because everyone doubted us before the game, we knew it. To put on a performance like that, it’s real pride. […] Everyone’s been talking a lot of crap about us all season, but I feel like we’re heading in the right direction.”
