Confederation Cup: Simba Sports' journey to the final

Simba Sports Club (Tanzania) travels on Saturday, May 12, to face RS Berkane (Morocco) in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final.

The Tanzanian football powerhouse is aiming for its first continental trophy, after falling short in the 1993 final against ASEC Mimosas.

Simba has shone throughout this 2024-2025 Confederation Cup campaign.

In the opening round, the Tanzanians overpowered Al Ahli Tripoli (Libya) with a 3-1 aggregate victory.

They then topped their group with 13 points, ahead of CS Constantine (12 points), Bravos do Maquis (7 points), and CS Sfaxien (3 points).

In the quarter-finals, Simba edged out Al Masry on penalties (4-1) after a 2-2 aggregate draw.

In the semi-finals, they narrowly defeated Stellenbosch FC (South Africa) by a 1-0 aggregate score.
