Deco shuts the door on Neymar's return to Barça!
FC Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, recently clarified the club's position regarding a potential return of Neymar da Silva next season.
After leaving PSG, Neymar made a comeback to Brazil, rejoining his former club Santos during the last winter transfer window. This followed the termination of his contract with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, a mutual agreement due to his recurring injuries and frequent absences with the Saudi club.
Deco ends speculation on Neymar's return
In statements reported by the Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo, Deco explained: "I don't think it's just about the financial aspect. I have great admiration for Neymar, but at the moment, we don't have concrete plans for next season."
He added, "Neymar has accomplished what he had to, he won what he needed to with Barcelona. Sometimes, such stories don't repeat themselves. No one can predict it, but I think it's not the right time to consider his return, neither from our side nor Neymar's."
He continued by specifying, "Neymar remains a player of great quality. However, if such an opportunity ever presented itself, the situation would need to be beneficial for both him and us."
Finally, regarding the resumption of his career, Deco concluded: "Above all, Neymar needs to find the joy of playing and feel happy again. I think the best place for him, at this precise moment, remains Brazil."
