Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy expressed his pride in Al Ahly & Zamalek hailing them as key pillars of Egypt’s sporting soft power.

Speaking during the signing of cooperation protocol with the Media Syndicate on Saturday, Dr. Sobhy highlighted his admiration for Al Ahly’s participation in the FIFA club world cup 2025, reaffirming full support for the red devils as Egypt's sole representative at the global event.

“We stand behind Al Ahly as they carry egypt’s flag at the club world cup” Sobhy declared.

Coordination with Egypt National Team Staff

The Minister revealed that he has already spoken with egypt head coach Hossam Hassan to coordinate the selection of Al Ahly players ensuring harmony between the club world cup schedule & the national team’s preparations.

On Investment & Sports Law Reform

Dr Sobhy also addressed the ongoing efforts to amend egypt’s sports law, emphasizing that there're no clauses allowing for club privatization. Instead the goal's to foster economic partnerships with the private sector while safeguarding the public nature of egyptian sports institutions.

He further confirmed plans to develop sports arbitration mechanisms and stressed egypt’s commitment to aligning with international sports regulations particularly those set by the IOC & global federations.

“If there're any decisions that need review or adjustment we act swiftly” the Minister ended.
