French coach Denis Lavagne addressed the comparison between PSG 2025 and OM 1993 (the first French club to win the UEFA Champions League) in a statement given to Foot Africa.

Personally, I don't get too caught up in these debates about who is superior. Football is always changing. Back in '93, Marseille dominated French football. Today, it's Paris Saint-Germain who are ruling the French game. Of course, when you see Paris Saint-Germain winning 4-0, 5-0, thrashing Inter Milan 4-0, Atlético Madrid again 4-0, even Real Madrid, and beating City 4-2, you can easily say that right now they are the best team in Europe—maybe even the best team in the world at the moment.

As for this 2024-2025 season, we'll see what happens in 2025-2026. The debates about who is better than OM '93 are really for fans and journalists.
