Exclusive interview: Yves Diba Ilunga breaks down the Congolese attack

The former “Leopard” dissected the attacking line of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in a statement given to foot-africa.

Football has become a science, following a certain unchanging logic that no one can escape. Whether it’s Bakambu, Banza, or Mayele, the DRC, with its talented players, can trouble any team—provided the player profiles on the pitch complement each other. Bakambu, a breakaway striker, needs either a quality playmaker to supply him or a strong target man to help him create space. Banza, on his part, relies on good wingers and fullbacks who can deliver quality crosses at the right moment. Lastly, Mayele is a hybrid forward who can adapt to any situation.

Bakambu, Banza, and Mayele’s season by the numbers

The Real Betis player featured in 40 matches this season, tallying 10 goals and 4 assists.

Finally, the Pyramids talisman netted 16 goals and provided 2 assists across 35 appearances.
