FC Nantes: Chidozie Awaziem returns

Eight years after his first stint, Chidozie Awaziem is set to make his return to FC Nantes. According to L'Équipe, the Nigerian centre-back will sign a contract with the Canaries until June 2028 during this summer transfer window.

On loan at the club during the 2017-2018 season, Chidozie Awaziem left a strong impression with his defensive discipline. Now 28 years old, he currently plays for the Colorado Rapids in MLS, where he is under contract until December 31, 2025.

Born in Enugu, the Nigerian international (33 caps) will bring his experience to Nantes' back line. His return represents a major reinforcement for the new head coach, who is eager to shore up the Yellow and Green’s defense.
