FIFA ranking: CIV and Morocco progress, Senegal and Cameroon regress
The International Federation of Football (FIFA) released, on Thursday, April 3, the new world ranking of national teams.

This ranking update takes into account the results achieved during the last international break, which was marked in Africa by the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The rise of CIV and Morocco
Côte d'Ivoire made a spectacular leap from 46th to 41st place, thanks to their two victories against Gambia and Burundi with narrow scores.

In turn, Morocco experienced a fine ascent in the global ranking. The Atlas Lions currently occupy the 12th position instead of the 14th.
Senegal and Cameroon take a step back
The 2021 AFCON winner regressed by two positions to 19th instead of 17th. Meanwhile, the Indomitable Lions slipped by one position (50th instead of 49th).
